Default Central Valley Flat Track boys take AMA Hole Shot series at Castle Rock!

This weekend was the AMA Hole Shot National Qualifying race flat track series in Castle Rock Washington. The Hole Shot race is the qualifying races for the AMA Amateur Nationals held in Springfield, Illinois coming up in June .

So last Thursday night, the Brooks and Pursell families loaded up the van and headed up
taking young 11yr old CVRF rider Hunter Brooks and 12 yr old Devon Pursell for the races. Arriving at 4pm Friday they checked in and located their pits to get some practice in and prepared for Saturdays race. Following up Friday night was the Souza family with young riders 5 yr old Eli and 10 yr old Evan. Souza's arriving an early 3am Saturday morning didn't get much rest time before getting the boys up to start the race day.

As Saturday began, it was apparent there was some good talent from all over the West Coast. But it didn't intimidate our young local Central Valley boys as they put in their work and through their heat races to the Mains resulting in podiums for all our boys.

Young 5yr old Eli Souza entered and brought home a 1st place in both PW shaft 4-6yr old class and 50cc Jr 4-6 yr old class.

While Eli's 10 yr old brother Evan Souza entered 85cc 7-11 yr old DTX class and 85cc Modified class for TT and Short Track to bring home a cool 2nd place finish in all races, as well as a Awesome 2nd place standing in Overall!

Deven Pursell who worked very hard and handling a couple mechanical issues though the day had still pulled off and outstanding 2nd place in 12-15 yr old
85cc Mod and 85cc DTX TT class. Unfortunately, during Devens heat race for short track, he had a nasty "get off" and suffered some scrapes and bruising. while in some pain Pursell did make a start and finish for the short track race to qualify for the Amature Nationals.

Which brings us to CVRF's rider Hunter Brooks, who had prepared very hard for this weekends race. As I'm sure all the boys did.
Hunter had entered the class's of 7-11 yr old 85cc Mod class and 7-11 yr old 85cc TT class. Where Hunter put it all on the track pulled off an awesome 1st place in both races! Then being pumped with excitement and adrenaline from being on top of the box for his first and second mains. Hunter backed up his stance to be the fastest by not only winning his heat races but proceeding to leave the other riders behind and winning his 7-11 yr old Short Track race. Which sealed the deal with bringing home both of the #1 plates for North West champion in TT & ST!

All these boys did an AWESOME job representing California Racing and am proud to be represented by such a strong group of Central Valley Racers! Way To Go Guys!

If you haven't seen these guys ride, you need to come out to Lodi's Cycle Bowl. It's a great time and it's a great place to be to see where the fastest in the CV come to ride!

CVRF was created for the riders in the Central San Joaquin Valley and surrounding areas to have a place to meet other like minded motorcycle riders to discuss the art of riding and possibly getting together for some rides! We work hard to provide a pleasant environment for our entire community to come together. Enjoy!

No this is a hole in the piston and allows for oil to bypass the valving on both compression and rebound. Im just not sure why its been put there in the first place....? The PO had some interesting valving in there and must have drilled it...... Wish Id taken a picture......
