Default The FZR project has begun

    And the first major hurdle...

Intake tubes are full of water. Hopefully the cylinders aren't.

If they are, Is it even worth dealing with? Has the rust in the cylinders ruined the engine?

Well the valves might be rusted & may need to replaced and the ports may have to be re-resurfaced. Let us know once you tear it apart...

1/4 cup of rusty water shot out of cylinder #4. Taking the heads off to asses the damage. Shadow may have found a parts bike for dirt cheap though. He kicks ass!

Doesn't look bad. I think it's salvageable. Drained the oil, a tiny bit of water came out of the crankcase, but it was clear. No sludge came With the oil. Cleaning the pistons an cylinders up then re assemble.

Got a lot done. Another engine bolted in a few days ago. Today I installed the drivetrain, cooling system, exhaust and carbs. Trying to disassemble the front brake master cylinder... Hoping to salvage it.
